We are traveling from Nuremberg to Hamburg and changing trains in Wurzburg. Our train from Nuremberg arrives on platform 8 and then we need to get to platform 6 a/b to catch the ICE train to Hamburg. We have 11 minute to make the connection. I have never been to the Wurzberg Hbf and am wondering, from smoeone who has, if we should be worried at all about making the connection? Thanks!

I%26#39;ve not been there either, but this is an advertised connection. German train connections allow plenty of time; I think 11 minutes will be plenty, and will allow time for the halt and the lame to do it slowly.
BUT: I think from a friend, there is no mechanised way of getting from one platform to another. So, no lift , no escalator.

There are usually two tracks on each platform, so what you are doing is essentially going to the next one over which has two sets of tracks between it. If this is a dead end station, you can walk to the end of the tracks and around, with possibly also being able to go down steps and over. If this is a through station, you will have to go down the steps, and up the next set of steps to the platform you want. In the latter case, 3-4 minutes should be more than adequate, so you have plenty of time unless your first train is severely late. Just gather up your luggage and take it to the train door several minutes before arrival, and you will be fine.

11 minutes is a more than adequate time to change trains in a mid-sized station like . You will need about 2-3 minutes for the change itself, and the rest as buffer for a possible delay.

We spent a couple of days in Wurzburg. Their Hbf is rather small and open, 11 minutes is quite enough time for your connection. No worries there what-so-ever.
