Hello i was wondering what the taxi prices are like in dusseldorf? as i am going there for a day trip from amsterdam + i was also wondering if the main rail station is far from the city centre (old town),Ok many thanks.

You can also use public transport. Esp. in the city centre and without luggage the better choice in my view.
Short hop ticket (3-4 stops) is EUR 1,30. Single ticket EUR 2,20. Day ticket is EUR 5,2. Mini group day ticket EUR 11,40.

Taxi from Dusseldorf main station to Alstadt is ca EUR 5,50 excluding tip (DUS has a flat for the first 2 kms by taxi fpr EUR 5,50).
Please exit the mainstation at Konrad Adenauer Platz - (the top of the main station). Go left and you will see a huge line of taxis.
But otherwise, taking the subway would be cheaper and on the same time basis.

A big thanks for the info guys,I do like to walk %26amp; see things but if i get lost or are short for time i will grab a taxi,Ps this will be my 1st time to germany after many many years of going to the nederlands so i am up for it.
