Help! Can't find a rail-pass that will include Poland!

Well I%26#39;m pretty last minute here but am trying to find the most economical way to travel between Germany, Austria, Czech, and Poland. I have the first three covered easily with a select pass but don%26#39;t know what the best way to get to Poland to see Auschwitz and back would be. We are college students and the three country pass itself is about $300USD. We are pretty dead set on going to Poland so what is the cheapest way to rail from Czech into Poland to see Auschwitz and back? We don%26#39;t plan on staying more than a night and would love to do it in a day catching the sleeper trains if possible. I honestly don%26#39;t know where to look as I%26#39;ve never been to Europe.

Are there any railpasses that include all four countries? I found this but don%26#39;t know if it will allow me to get on the train in Prague and go straight to Krakow. raileurope.com/us/shopping/pass_finder.htm Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

If you are going from the Czech Republic to Poland and back, you might look at buying a ticket instead of using a railpass.

Rail ticket prices in the Czech Republic and Poland are quite a bit cheaper than in Germany and Austria.

Ask in the Czech forum what the cost might be.

I can%26#39;t help you with your train questions, but Poland is worth more than a day trip. Krakow is close to Auschwitz and is an excellent destination in itself. See some other things while you are there.

Absolutely - a rail pass in the Czech Republic will be no good to you as it is much cheaper to buy point-to-point tickets on the day. Also international tickets can be bought at good discounts from Germany, Austria and Czech Republic, which makes Rail Passes uneconomical - also give Rail Europe a wide berth as they are extremely expensive.

Just go to the websites of the respective national rail carriers and see what is on offer

and I don%26#39;t think it would feasibly be possible to do a journey such as you suggest in the space of one day. Theoretically, yes, but it would be completely draining, physically and emotionally, and it would be a shame to miss out on Krakow.
