All advice on Berlin greatly accepted

We are off to Berlin for 6 nights in early August staying at the Hilton in Mitte. I have read the advice on the Forums but still can%26#39;t get my head around it. I need a simple guide on how to get from the airport (flying in with BA) to the hotel. Also, some bullet points on the must do things in Berlin would be great. We plan to do a bike tour of Berlin and obviously visit Checkpoint Charlie. However, things are now complicated a bit by the problems with the trains and their reduced service for the next few weeks. Not really into museums in a big way so is there a travel card that is recommended for the city and surrounding area. Thanks for all your help in advance!

For Berlin it really depends on your interest.

History, architecture, art, shopping, etc.

If it%26#39;s getting really hot the (sand) beaches at Berlin%26#39;s rivers and lakes are also an alternative.
