Hello,
I need to get the Umweltzone plaquette by Monday. Then, I won%26#39;t be able to receive it by post - how should I buy it, then? I asked about it at the petrol stations at the Polish-German border, but they told me I have to look for it in the service points in Germany. Is it the only option? I would prefer to buy it somewhere else because I don%26#39;t want to drive off the autobahn. Can I buy it on some kind of petrol station in Berlin (or rest of Germany)? Maybe any shops in Berlin outside the inner ring sell them? Is it possible to buy it in Berlin? How long would it take?

You can´t %26quot;buy%26quot; it. The plaquette is a certificate that your car doesn´t emit too much. It can be only issued by qualified service points.

Get it from any automobile service station. Get off the Autobahn in one of the towns near Berlin and look for a dealer that services cars, in particular your make of car.

brochure on this

Quote: %26quot;Stickers are issued by the vehicle registration authority (Landesamt für Bürger und Ordnungsangelegenheiten –LABO, Internet: www.berlin.de/labo/kfz/dienststelle/index.html), by the exhaust gas test organisations such as TÜV, DEKRA, GTÜ and by about 800 authorised garages in Berlin. The Senate Department for Health, Environment and Consumer Protection offers an interactive service on the web (www.berlin.de/umweltzone). You can easily retrieve all streets within the environment zone and the location, address and phone numbers of the all organisation issuing the stickers in Berlin.%26quot;

altamiro - I know what this plaquette is. I don%26#39;t know why you say one can%26#39;t %26quot;buy%26quot; it. Of course I have to fit the concrete requirements (date of production), but all in all, I have to pay for it - I don%26#39;t get it as a gift. Therefore, I definitely %26quot;buy%26quot; it.
Thanks for the replies. Then, the plaquette can%26#39;t be bought just on petrol station or in place like that. Cheers.

I drive a Volvo, so I got my Umweltplakette from a Volvo dealer a couple years ago or whenever it was they started this.

The stickers cost between 5 and 15 euros, which is a fee, not a sale price. Officially, they are not %26quot;sold.%26quot; You need to have your registration papers.
|||
Technically you receive the certificate itself for free, you just reimburse administrative costs. It´s like you don´t %26quot;buy%26quot; a new passport, even if you have to pay an administrative fees after your old passport expired.

OK, thanks for the information. I managed to buy the plaquette in my country.
