Long transfer at FRA

Hello

On Monday i will have a 5,5 hours transfer in Frankfurt. Could anyone recommend an ok restaurant near the airport? Anyting else we can do while we are waiting for our next flight?

There is nothing near the airport except highways and insustry. But the city center of Frankfurt (where there are a lot of restaurants) is just 20 min by train.

S-Bahn trains bring you straight into the city centre (stop Hauptwache) in 15 minutes from Terminal 1. Mini group day ticket is EUR 14,00. This ticket covers all types of local public transport in Frankfurt.

Hauptwache is #18 on the map

Apart from the options at the airport itself there are no others close to the airport at all.

Can you let me know via tripadvisor what you did, as i have the same wait in Frankfurt at Christmas time.

If it%26#39;s Christmas time, at least before 23-24Dec, go into Frankfurt, the Christmas Market will be open. You should be able to find plenty to eat or drink there, besides the booths selling merchandise.

The trip into Frankfurt to the main station takes 11 min. and to the Hauptwache add another 4 min.

Everything is easy to walk to. Lots of restaurants, historical churches and sites to see, lots of shopping. Depends on what your interests are.

Make sure you allow enough time to return for security checks, etc.

The last day for the Frankfurt Christmas Market is 22 Dec.
