Does anyone know if there is an alternate way to get to Heidelberg from Memmingen besides driving? Bus or train? I am not use to driving on mountains.
Thank you!

There are no real mountains on this route, at least if using the autobahns. You can inexpensively make this trip on the train using the Baden-Wuerttemberg day train ticket for 19€ single and 28€ for a group of 2-5 people. There are two restrictions with this ticket, no travel before 9AM on weekdays and no fast long distance trains (IC, EC, ICE) can be used. This ticket will also cover all other transportation in this German state including buses, trams, U-bhans and S-bahns. Note that Memmingen is in Bavaria, but covered by this ticket, so local transportation there (bus) will not be covered by it.
Go to www.bahn.de , change to English near the top of the page, and select only local transportation if using this ticket. I would check making this trip using both a regular ticket and the B-W one, and see if the extra time involved is worth your savings in price.
