Heidelburg to Meersburg by Motorbike.

Can anyone suggest a good route, going via Freudenstadt, nice touring views and good motorbiking roads?

Thanks.

Take the A7 autobahn to Baden-Baden. You can then take the Black Forest high Road (Hwy 500) from Baden-Baden to Freudenstadt, then head west a very short distance on Hwy 28, before turning left on the lonely road to Wolfach. There go west the short distance to Hausach and then SE on Hwy 33. In a short distance is the interesting open air museum with lots of reassembled large Black Forest farmhouses. Continue on through Triberg with its waterfall and at Schwenningen take the road to Tuttlingen. Then drive east along the Danube River through its idyllic gorge through the Swabian Alb ( www.schwaebischealb.de , my favorite part of Germany with its numerous castles and caves and excellent cliffside scenery and lack of tourist hordes) with lots of castles and palaces perched atop the cliffs to Sigmaringen ( www.sigmaringen.de ), which also has an excellent castle/palace with a large collection of medieval armor and weapons. From there head to Pfullendorf and continue on to Heiligenberg, then Salem and then Lake Constance ( www.bodensee-tourismus.de ) and Meersburg ( www.meersburg.de ).

The problem is if you are considering doing this in a day, a week would be much better, so you can stop to see all the excellent things along the way. To me, the best of my suggested route is between Tuttlingen and Sigmaringen, it%26#39;s just gorgeous, and there probably won%26#39;t be any tourist hordes like in the Black Forest.

The one website should be www.bodensee-tourismus.com .

As this route is entirely within the state of Baden-Wuerttemberg, a few additional useful websites:

www.baden-wuerttemberg.de Baden-Wuerttemberg

www.tourismus-bw.de Badsen-Wuerttemberg tourism

www.schloesser-und-gaerten.de for the excellent castles, palaces, monasteries and gardens operated by this state

And for driving directions, times, distances, routes:

www.viamichelin.com
