Hello,
My friend and I are leaving for an express mini tour of Europe in the next fortnight; leaving England and going on a road-trip through nine countries in just over two weeks. We want to squeeze in as much sightseeing and drinking as possible in that time and I was wondering if anyone could pass on any slices of insider’s knowledge or recommendations for our destinations.
We’ve only got about one day/night in each destination before moving on so if you’ve anything interesting, exciting and stunning for us to see or do I’d really appreciate it. We’ll be staying in hostels or camping so any recommendations would also be great.
Anyway, I was hoping you could help me out for Munich. Many thanks in advance.

Well, your plan of nine countries in 14 days, one day/night at each location, doesn%26#39;t really call for insiders knowledge...
In Munich you%26#39;ll end up in the area around Marienplatz, weather permitting having a few beers at the beergarden on Viktualienmarkt before moving on to the HofbrÀuhaus for more beer and maybe some bavarian food. You could also have lunch or dinner at the Ratskeller, a nice place for tourists often cited here. And have a walk through the city center from Karlsplatz to Marienplatz and on to Odeonsplatz, then onward to the Englischer Garten, have a look at the Eisbach surfers and beers at the beergarden at the chinese tower and you will have gotten your quick %26quot;Munich at a glance%26quot; impressions.

sounds like all you really need is to find the Hofbrauhaus... ooompah, beers, food and staggering distance to the U-Bahn... enjoy

Yes, the one thing fairly unique to Munich are the beer halls, and the previously mentioned Hofbrauhaus, although touristy, will fill the bill.
