Can you book train tickets on the bahn.de site from the US?

Booking an overnight train from Florence to Munich for September.

I was told by the lovely people in the Florence forum that the TrenItalia website isn%26#39;t very reliable to book with from the US.

Can I book this trip on the bahn.de site from here?

I go through all of the booking steps (and even find the cabin that I want at a discount!), but I wasn%26#39;t sure if I went through with payment if it would %26quot;work%26quot;. Would they ship my tickets to the US?

Any advice would be much appreciated!

Why should a server in the internet care where somebody else`s computer physically is?

It mainly comes down to money and ads. On this TA website you now automatically go to the German version because you are physically in Germany and they run the German ads before you change to English. Then there are websites that won%26#39;t work properly if you are in a different country, even if there is no real need to do this. But also check sometime where they ask you to input your location, and then the different rates applied for the same thing because you chose a different country. Things like auto rentals and airline fares are often highly dependent on where you live, rightly or wrongly.

There are airlines, railways and car rental companies which make prices and availability dependent from the country the customers lives.

E.g. SNCF (French Railway) redirects customers

from www.sncf-voyages.com after selecting English to www.tgv-europe.com and than after saying you%26#39;re from the US to www.raileurope.com.

In this case to protect the business of their subsidiary Rail Europe, Inc. And with Rail Europe you will miss out the cheap specials the other two sites have.

Yes you can. I recently did it with the option of online tickets. It did printout a receipt showing the card charged and train info. However, on the note section on the bottom it said ticket will be displayed as a PDR-File. That never came up. I hit the print buttom and it gave me a receipt for the tickets showing paid and reserved seating. I%26#39;m assuming its the ticket. Also said must have credit along with paid reservation.

It said you will receive your posting data per email. Have not received anything yet and its been 5 days.
