What time do the crowds thin out in the evening?

I keep reading about the tons of tourist in Rothenburg. What time in the evening to the crowds lessen?

After about 4 or 5 o%26#39;clock. Believe me, after the conquering hords have left, the city is really enchanting.

Rothenburg is a lovely little place. The night watchman tour is very interesting for adults and kids as well.

I%26#39;d say around 5pm or 6pm. We were there in Oct. %26#39;07 and while it was busy during the day, after dinner we felt we had the town to ourselves. Rothenberg is beautiful even with crowds but magical after they have left.

We loved the Nightwatchmans Tour.

A walk along the wall in the evening is also a great way to see Rothenberg.

Was there on Friday, July 17th and there 50-60 people for the Nightwatchman tour. We arrived around 3 pm and things never really seemed crowded until we showed up for the 8 pm tour.

Don%26#39;t worry, the Nightwatchman is great. He has a great voice and great projection so we never had any problem with hearing him.

Prior to the tour we walked out along the walls and there wasn%26#39;t hardly anyone there. I think that once you get away from the main streets, the crowds lessen.

Enjoy Rothenburg, it really is wonderful.
