First time poster to Frankfurt site - so hello all :) We will be in the airport waiting for a flight for just under 5 hours in the evening and have thought about leaving the airport for a quick look around the city but have changed our minds after searching on here, time really is against us! Anyway, has anyone got a good recommendation for a good place to have a meal - we will be in term.1.
Thanks
C

You don%26#39;t have to stay in Terminal 1, you can hop on the monorail and be in Terminal 2 in about 2 minutes.
Wander around, take one of the airport tours, go shopping, peruse the menus at the restaurants. Find something that looks good to you.

If you want traditional German food and money is not that much an issue, check out Käfer in terminal 1. A branch of the delicatessen house in Munich.

You shouldn%26#39;t have any trouble finding a place for a meal in the airport, lots of selections, anything from McDonalds to much nicer restaurants. If you have any interest, there is a pretty nice Spar grocery store on the lower level, interesting place to browse.

Thanks all, lots of %26quot;food%26quot; for thought there!!!!

In addition to th above suggestions, there is a nice restaurant %26quot; Untere Schweinstiege%26quot; associated with the Steigenberger Avance Aiport hotel. It%26#39;s about 10 minutes by (free) hotel shuttle bus.
The restaurant is in an old hunting lodge, has a nice ambiance and serves traditional German dishes. It is not inexpensive, though.

Thank you - we will have to see how the %26quot;funds%26quot; are for that one after 12 days in Italy........

What would an average meal cost? We are staying at the Intercity airport hotel. We are getting off a long haul flight from Hong Kong and flying out the next morning. A bit of a walk followed by a lightish meal seems like a good idea. What are the options?
