Questions about various museums and museum pass

Hi Berlin experts,

We will have 4 full days for sightseeing in Berlin, which I understand is far from enough. Our main interests are in art (esp Old Masters, modern art, bauhaus), but also in various other things.

My plan right now is get the 3-day museum pass; and for our 4th day we will visit places not covered by the museum pass.

Here are my questions:

1) My understanding is that all State Museums (under SMB umbrella) are covered by the pass. However, when I look at the list here:

berlin-tourist-information.de/international/…

Two SMB places I want to visit are not listed: the Collection Scharf-Gerstenberg in Charlottenburg, and the Kunstgewerbe Museum in Kulturforum.

Am I confused? Aren%26#39;t these places covered by the museum pass?

2) We will visit the special Bauhaus exhibit at the Martin-Gropius-Bau while we are in Berlin. However, we also want to visit the Bauhaus archiv as well. When I look at Bauhaus archiv website, it%26#39;s a bit confusing as to whether it%26#39;s open or not?

%26quot;The Bauhaus Collection Classic Modern Originals

Closed until October 2009 due to construction work

››schön anzusehen - bauhaus-archiv‹‹ 22.07. - 04.10.09 %26quot;

Is only parts of the museum closed or is the entire place closed? We depart October 4.

3) We are interested in visiting the DDR Museum and the Stasi Museum. However, I am afraid we won%26#39;t have time for both. If we have to choose one, which one would you recommend? I%26#39;ve heard that the Stasi museum doesn%26#39;t have much English explanation, but one can still get the %26quot;gist%26quot; of it by looking at the displays. I%26#39;m also undecided regarding Topography of Terror. Any comments?

Thanks in advance.

1) Kunstgewerbemuseum is listed. Albeit under a grouped header.

Kunstbibliothek, Kunstgewerbemuseum, Kupferstichkabinett

Collection Scharf-Gerstenberg is as the name says just a collection, part of the Nationalgalerie museum.

2) The Bauhaus Archiv as a museum is closed. Parts of the building can be however visited

››schön anzusehen - bauhaus-archiv‹‹ 22.07. - 04.10.09

Which really just means that you can see the building (= its architecture). No exhibits however.
