I will be celebrating my 30th birthday in Munich during Oktoberfest and I am looking for somewhere to go for dinner that has good food and a nice view of some sort. We will be staying in south east Munich but will be at Oktoberfest activities during the day.

For views you cant beat Restauarant 181 which is at the top of the olympic tower. I havent eaten there myself in years so I cant comment on quality- usually the food is secondary to the view. But maybe this has changed given that it recently came under new management. For nice food that locals actually go to you could consider one of the reastauants and roof top terraces in Hotel Bayrischer Hof or the Kafer Restaurant (the %26#39;a%26#39; has an umlaut on it).
