Salzburg or Frankfurt?

I will be going away in November for my Birthday with my girlfriend for around 3 or 4 days.

Both in our early 20%26#39;s and i cant decide between frankfurt and Salzburg - both currently have £1 flights!

im on a bit of a budget so what are day to day prices like? is there a lot to do?

Both have a lot to do there and around them. Frankfurt is largely a modern city with skyscrapers and typical big city sights and nightlife, but also has older sights. The most scenic part of the Rhine is also close by, for nice small towns, castles and vineyards.

Now, if you are talking Ryanair, the actual airport is in Hahn, quite distant from Frankfurt. The real Frankfurt airport is FRA and is about 15 minutes away by S-bahn from downtown, and does not require a long bus ride like from Hahn. If you are flying into Hahn you might consider visiting the close Mosel River with its nice small towns, vineyards and castles, similar to the best of the Rhine.

Salzburg is one of my favorite places in Europe, a small city with excellent cultural attractions and sitting literally on the doorstep of the magnificent German and Austrian Alps. So you have a wide choice of what you want to do there. Staying in the old town is wonderful for the ambience, and is romantic.

I can%26#39;t help you with prices, but if Frankfurt is having a large trade fair, hotel prices will skyrocket.

From London there are a lot of other German cities you can access for similar prices on the discount airlines if you find prices too high in some of them.
