Frankfurt to Munich in One Day?

Hi Everyone,

Is it possible to go to Munich from Frankfurt and back in one day?

I have done some research and it seems most of the Eagle Nest tours(purpose of going to Munich) leave at 830 AM daily. Does anyone know of any that leave later? Better yet has anyone done the trip in one day?

Ideally we would arrive in Munich and move on to the Eagle%26#39;s Nest Tour and then head back to Frankfurt where we are booked at a hotel for a few days.

is this even possible?

Seen from the travel time Munich is closer to Frankfurt than to the Eagle%26#39;s Nest.

Already the tour from Munich to the Eagle%26#39;s Nest and back on one day is at the limit what you can/do should as a day trip. I.e. travel time exceeds the sightseeing time considerably.

Even with the first train in the morning you cannot make it to the 08:30 departure in Munich.

You could do however the whole (long day) trip by public transport.

To buy tickets use Berchtesgaden as destination. You buy the ticket from Berchtesgaden train station to Kehlsteinparkplatz (Eagle’s Nest parking lot) from the bus driver. This ticket covers also the lift from Kehlsteinparkplatz up to the Eagle%26#39;s Nest.
