Public transport - xmas day

I want to catch a train from Nuremberg to Rothenburg ob der Tauber on Christmas Day. The German rail website only has a timetable until 12 December 2009. Do trains run on public holidays in Germany?

Of course, train still run on public holidays. For public transportation in most places in Germany, the holiday schedule should be similar to the Sunday schedule with somewhat reduced services.

I believe the train timetable is updated on 12Dec, therefore no official times yet, but most schedules should be similar to the existing ones.

However, stores are closed on public holidays as well as Sundays, and most museums are usually open (Christmas may be an exception), and if that holiday falls on a Monday when the museum is normally closed, most likely it would then be open.

The new timetable will be online from end of October / early November on.

You can check however how the situation was on 24. Dec. 2008.

The last connection from Rothenburg to Nuremberg was departing at 22:10 arriving at 23:47.

Same for Christmas Day, 25. Dec. 2008.

The %26quot;peak time%26quot; of closings is actually Christmas Eve early afternoon and evening, albeit not a public holiday. Public transport does however operate.
