Are Indian restaurants popular in Berlin ?
Can anyone recommend such a place in Rosenthaler / Torstrasse area please ?

Indian restaurants are not very popular in Germany.
You find some in Oranienburger Strasse

Amrit = huge portions, but a little bland.
They like to ply you with salad extra%26#39;s as side dishes [free with main courses] and the starter plates are also piled high with salad.
Main courses whilst large also includes cauliflower which was very odd.
Don%26#39;t get me wrong, it was okay food wise, but just bland. I%26#39;d recommend heading to a thai restaurant instead.

Totally agree with Nothern74 re the Amrit. We also had huge servings but the food was bland and we were both quite disappointed.

Thanks for that. I have found another place close to our hotel which I may check out instead. %26#39;Aapka%26#39; in Kastanienallee if anyone is familiar with it ??

Aapka at Zionskirchplatz is OK, very popular.
Another to try out is Indian Village on Oderberger Strasse.
