Augsburg

We have a spare couple of day%26#39;s next week when visiting Munich and are looking to spend them in a small town near Augsburg.

Suggestions please.

Hello, yes a town is what we are looking for, nice hotel and close enough to visit Augsburg from.

Somewhere quite scenic if possible please.

Not sure what your definition of close is, but if 90km is close, Eichstatt may be what you%26#39;re looking for. Small, baroque town with a cute altstadt and a castle on a hill. About the same distance from Augsburg is Nordlingen, with a complete intact perimeter wall around it.

in the other direction is Schongau, another walled town- towards the Alps.

I have been to Augsburg many times. We stay in INGOLSTADT. Get the train from Augsburg straight to INGOLSTADT. The trains run approx every hour and costs

11 euro 50.It takes appoc 57 minutes. When you come out of the train station, get a taxi to the town center. It is a beautiful old town.You can get a map of the Bavarian rail network quite easily by typing bavarian rail network into your search engine.From Ingolstadt you can go to Neuremberg on the Bullet. A great experience. Or, go to Regensburg, an hour by train from Ingolstadt.Closer still is Neuburg, 18 mins from Ingolstadt.
