Going to spend one night and have a club room booked, but it%26#39;s $150 more than a regular room already. Is it worth it? Do they charge for the drinks? I know there are snacks and breakfast but is that worth $150 extra. Anyone know of a less expensive place to stay at the airport?

Why stay at the airport when you are barely more than 10 minutes away from the city? There you have a massive choice of hotels offering all of the services you would want or need. You are paying a premium for being at the airport, and for me that would not be worth it all, no way, no how.

Hi Cruisehappy, can%26#39;t tell you difference and value of the club room vs regular room but I can give you a few heads up if interested. We used to always stay at the Sheraton the night before our return back to the States but the last several years and the cost have made us reconsider. We now stay at the IBIS in Kelsterbach, about 15 minutes away by shuttle bus. The hotel is a very basic, clean hotel, not fancy by any stroke of the imagination but it suits our needs perfectly. Since we usually rent a car upon arrival we return it to Frankfurt airport the evening before our flight, and take the complimentary shuttle to the hotel.
We fly in and out of IAH (Houston) and always fly Lufthansa - Lufthansa lets you check in after 6:00 p.m. the evening before your flight if you depart before 1:30 p.m. (I think that%26#39;s the cutoff time) the following day. That way we check our luggage, get our boarding passes and don%26#39;t have to deal with that the next morning. We just put our clean change of clothing in a carry on, go to the hotel, check out the next a.m. and take their shuttle back to the airport.
Sorry this is so long winded. Hopefully it has provided some information you%26#39;re interested in.

Uh oh...need to clarify, you can check in the evening before on Lufthansa at the airport in Frankfurt for your return home, not IAH.

I would love to stay in town but have you seen the town prices lately? Worse than the airport. thanks for your help. There must be something going on October 14 in Frankfurt.

Thanks so much. I will see if I can get a reservation. I think there is a book fair or something October 14 so it may not be availalbe. Thanks for your help.

Yes, the book fair is going on and that is also the reason why your Sheraton at the airport is also so expensive. ALL the hotels raise their prices then. It doesn%26#39;t matter where you are staying. You might try in Mainz or Wiesbaden, though they get affected by the trade fairs too. They are both only 30 min. away from the airport with the S-Bahn
