Oktoberfest 9-27-09

My wife and I are wanting to go to one of tents on Sunday evening, 9-27-09...but there are only two of us, so no chance to get a reservation. Anyone have two extra tickets by chance? We are coming from Houston, Texas and really looking forward to it!

As said very often in this forum, you don%26#39;t need a reservation to go into a tent at Oktoberfest! Especially if there are only 2 people on a sunday. Just go to the fest ground, check out the tents and ask people at the tables if they have space for 2. It might take a while, but in the end you will be seated at a table. Then order your beers and join in the fun!

Thanks. My concern is that we won%26#39;t get there until around 4:00 pm, and this is our one and only shot at Oktoberfest for quite some time! Do you think we still don%26#39;t need tickets?

THERE ARE NO TICKETS!

It is possible to reserve complete tables (thus for 10, 20, 30 ... persons). This service is mainly for companies and organizations from Munich visiting every year. Some tents do also not accept new customers for such reservations at all. And only a certain share of tables can be reserved. This is defined by the city of Munich. During the weekends of the Oktoberfest the tents must e.g. not reserve tables in the main aisle of the tent at all.

Have also a look on the Wiesn Barometer

Sunday evening is no peak time.

...its really simple... you wander around until you find a space in one of the tents... be prepared to be quite snug and sing along with your neighbours,,, so please no more questions about tickets.

Just to underline again what Kepinitreal and Abalada have said: there are NO TICKETS to get into the tents and reservations are not necessary if you%26#39;re 2-4 people. On a sunday afternoon it will be much easier to get a seat at a table than any other day. If you%26#39;re there around 4pm it might take a little time, but if you%26#39;re nice and friendly you will, after a while, be sharing a table with other nice and friendly people.
