Nuremberg Airport to Bamberg

Hi there,

Could someone be kind enough to let me know what might be the best way to get from Nuremberg airport to the Hotel Berliner in Bamberg? Taxi? Train? Car service? Much appreciate any help offered.

Thanks,

DB timetable

http://reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/query.exe/en

From: Nuremberg Airport

To: Adam-Kraft-Strasse, Bamberg

Combination of U-Bahn (metro), train and bus.

The bus stop Adam-Kraft-Strasse is just 50 m from the hotel.

abalada,

Thank you for your reply.

With a bit of luggage, would a taxi possibly be a more convenient way than having to navigate train, metro and bus?

If you are ready to pay 120-130 € for a taxi over a 100 km distance... it´s your money after all.

If you want to support Germany%26#39;s taxi drivers you can take a taxi from Bamberg station to your hotel

From Nuremberg Airport to Nuremberg Hauptbahnhof (main train station) use the U-Bahn (metro). Crosses the city center underground. A taxi would have to use a far less direct route.

You could buy at Nuremberg Airport a Bavaria Ticket Single (EUR 20,00). This day ticket covers the whole trip (U-Bahn + regional train + bus). Slightly more expensive than 3 separate tickets for the single steps however. For this trip a kind of %26quot;underusage%26quot; but at least convenient.

Even more attractive if not traveling alone. The price for the mini group version good for 2-5 persons is EUR 28,00.

Thank you both for your kind replies!

altamiro, good point about the expense fortunately, fare happens to be a reimbursed expense, but of course, no need for extravagance if public transport is convenient.

abalada, again thank you–you give me the impression that even with some luggage (with wheels) that I should be able to easily make it from airport to Nuremberg Hauptbahnhof and use metro then a bus–a silly question: but are there many stairs involved between the three transport systems? This is more my concern, otherwise, it seems the way for me to go.

Much appreciate your help!

Nuremberg subway is modern, meaning there are no stations without elevators or escalators. The subway train floor is usually flush with the platform. Same with the HBf. I am not sure about Bamberg but as wit almost all DB station in Germany I would assume that an elevator/escalator/ramp will be there.

City buses are usually low floor so you don´t need to lift the luggage more than 20-25 cm from the ground.
