Will be taking the bus to Berchtesgaden from Salzburg. Am going on the salt mine tour first (0945) then going on the Eagle%26#39;s nest tour at 1315.
The Eagles nest tour leaves from in front of the train station. How far is the salt mine from the train station?

5-8 minutes by bus.
1,4 km if you walk (the buses are using a less direct route).
As you will buy anyway a day ticket for the bus (= price of 2 singles) this will cost not extra.

How often does the bus run between the salt mine %26amp; train station?

DB timetable

From: Berchtesgaden Salzbergwerk
To: Berchtesgaden Hbf

Never knew the DB Bahn site had bus schedule, thought it was just train. I see the bus runs about every 5-10 minutes. At 1.4 km might just walk
Thanks

If you like you can visit after the Eagle%26#39;s Nest lake Königssee. One of the most beautiful spots in the Alps.
DB timetable has even the boats on lake Königssee ;-)
To: St. Bartholomae, Schoenau

If you want to go to Königssee/Schönau you need to buy from Salzburg a bus ticket to one more SVV zone.

(The boats are not covered by SVV tickets.)

Eagles Nest tour doesn%26#39;t finish till about 1730 so don%26#39;t know if we will be able to include that as we still have to bus back to Salzburg.

Is group ticket available for 4 passengers from Salzburg to Berchtesgaden.

%26gt; Is group ticket available for 4 passengers from Salzburg to Berchtesgaden.
A tricky question ;-)
SVV has only single person day tickets.
You can however use the Bavaria Ticket (EUR 28,00 for 2-5 persons) which you can buy from the DB ticket machines at Salzburg Hbf.
The Bavaria Ticket covers
- the trains from Salzburg Hbf to Berchtesgaden
- the buses around Berchtesgaden as long you stay inside Bavaria
rvo-bus.de/site/…liniennetzplan__bgd.pdf
(borders are not shown, but shortly after Marktschellenberg)
With the Bavaria Ticket you cannot use the direct buses (# 840) from Salzburg to Berchtesgaden.
Generally not covered are the buses up to the Eagle%26#39;s Nest (bus #849) between Dokumentation/Kehlstein Busabfahrt and Kehlsteinparkplatz. Neither by the Bavaria Ticket or SVV tickets. They just built here a road instead of a cable car or cogwheel railway like up to other peaks. And like with a cable car or cogwheel railway you have to pay to get up.

We%26#39;re in the same boat between deciding between the bus day tickets or the Bavaria ticket using the train for Salzburg to Berchtesgaden. We are planning to see the salt mine and Konigsee, not Eagle%26#39;s nest as our children are 6 and 9. In our case the Bavaria ticket is a little cheaper but the bus day ticket wil also work on the Salzburg buses as far as I understand. So if we have anything else planned to see in Salzburg when we return then the bus ticket may be a better option.
