Best Breakfasts..?

Hi everyone,

I%26#39;ve heard that Breakfast in Berlin is quite a big thing at weekends and that a lot of cafe%26#39;s and restaurants offer breakfast buffets. Can anyone recommend a particularly good one they%26#39;ve been to with lots of choice and great food?

We%26#39;ll be staying at the Circus Hotel so somewhere in Mitte would be great.

Thanks

Brunch on Sunday is a real tradition in Berlin.

My favourite place is probably Sachs in Knesebeckstraße 29, 10623 Charlottenburg. Website is www.sachsberlin.de and it costs about 12 Euro.

Cheaper at 8-9 Euro and also fun as its by a canal is Freischwimmer, Vor Dem Schlesischen Tor 2A., in Treptow. Website is www.freischwimmer-berlin.de

In Prenzlauer Berg, there is Restauration 1900, in Kollwitzplatz which is around 10 Euro. Website is www.restauration-1900.de

Near Potsdamer Platz is the Modern Art of Asia which is around 13-15 Euro but very stylish. www.maoa.de

But practically every Berliner will have a favorite place so just ask anyone for advice and generally they will be good tips. You can, for example, try Morgenland or the Cafe Am Neuen See in the Tiergarten.

Since you probably don%26#39;t want to travel across town for this, check out Café Belluno on Kollwitzplatz. Many, many of the cafés in that neighbourhood do a Sunday AM spread, so just have a look around before you decide.

Also, closer to your hotel: Café Fleury on Weinbergsweg (not sure if they do a buffet, but they do do French breakfast), Galao A Pastelaria: wonderful Portugese coffee and treats, and Bar 103 (no sign) at the corner of Kastanienallee and Zionskirchplatz, which doesn%26#39;t do a buffet, but has a great breakfast spread.

Thanks so much to you both, that%26#39;s really helpful. I%26#39;ll check these out! Is it just on Sundays or Saturdays too?

Buffets are only on weekends - sometimes only Sundays - but many cafés have big breakfast menues daily.
